Remember this year I turned 30? I also decided to give away some sessions in celebration of my 30th. Lindsay’s family was one of the lucky winners. We ventured to white lake rock in Dallas, TX and soaked up some of the great last minutes of the day.

Shooting late afternoon / early evening is definitely one of my favorite things to do. Soft beautiful back light is where I find inspiration, and photographing this gorgeous family was just a great treat. More Images from this session to come soon.

Meet Lexi. The friendliest baby on earth. This little girl stole my heart the minute I met her. It was a beautiful sunny Washington afternoon and I could not believe the way this 6 month old interacted with me. I loved photographing this family. Thank you to Mom and Dad who trusted me, I hope you enjoy these images for many years to come. Hoping our paths will cross again in the future.

Outdoor summer newborn sessions are my favorite, and I hope to do some of these in Dallas this year. You might remember this adorable couple from their Maternity session. (seen here). Remember those days there you were simply exhausted, but yet filled with energy and gratefulness for this small new life. The moments you hold that baby in your arms and realize, this is it. He is mine, God gave me this little person to love, protect and cherish my whole life. I have a deep love for photographing families, all types of family sessions. I am now taking on maternity,newborn and family sessions in Dallas, tx and DFW area. Summer and Mike, I hope you are doing really good. I believe this little guy is around 7/8 months now?

Summer & Mike. Maternity

Think Chevron inspired baby room, tree wall decals and personalized DIY wall frames. This mommy did it all. I enjoyed photographing Summer and Mike’s Maternity session last year. We ventured off into a fielded area to take some beautiful portraits during sun set. I adored working with these two, and next up will be their newborn session. Brand new. Dallas, TX

My new brand, complete with custom Illustrations, letterpress business cards, custom folio’s and much more. For anyone who has done branding or rebranded knows that, this is a long and sometimes a soul searching process. It’s something that changes and evolves by the day for me. When I first decided that my two brands (Adele Cabanillas & Abigail Reese Photography) needs to be combined, my initial thought was, I really want to create something that is me. I wanted my images to live in a place that is mine. I found the amazing Mollly Jacques on Pinterest, and we started working together on my rebrand project in June 2012. Much happened last year, and the process was slower than I anticipated, but travel, work and family came first. I had a vision of a brand I wanted, and it involved things handmade, handwritten but yet sophisticated and clean. Most of all, I wanted something that is functional, easy to navigate and easy on the eye. Illustrations have always been a love of mine. I am horrible at drawing, but somehow, I always find myself drawing something. I am so happy with what Molly created for me. I hope you do too. On to my web design and coding. I think Iaan with Plus Plus Minus, probably wanted to fire me a few times. We had a site designed that was geared very much to a certain market, and right at the time we were ready to go live with that site, I realized that the Market I am in right now is much, much different than the one I left in Seattle. We had to switch gears and adapt what we had with something more clean, something that will attract a wider market. I want to thank Plus Plus Minus for creating what I had envisioned. The site works beautifully on any device, it’s easy to navigate, the flow is seamless. Everything I wanted. Some of my favorite things are obviously the illustrations, but also my “about” page. This page is linked to my Instagram and changes whenever I upload to Instagram.

Thomas & Kate Aiken. Married. Bahamas

Never did I expect when 2012 came along, that this year, I’ll be fortunate enough to photograph a Destination Beach Wedding in the Bahamas. The Idea of traveling to this exotic location was dreamy to say the least, but I never imagined what the week at the Abaco Club on Winding Bay would hold in store.

I met Kate and Tom, some of the most real and loveable people and I don’t have the right words to describe my experience with them. All I can say is, Thank you so so much for making me feel at home from the second I arrived. Thank you for your kindness, your willingness to walk on rocks, sand, and grass… to brave the bug bites, the humidity, all that with smiles on your faces. I had the most wonderful time getting to know your closest friends and family. I wish you all the best for your life together and I hope our paths will cross again in the near future.

a Special thank you needs to go out to my friend and fellow photographer in South Africa, Rensche Mari, who introduced me to this beautiful couple. I value your friendship so much!!

Someone once described my work as “happy”… I like that. And this couple is truly one of those couple that just make my life & work so so fulfilling. I had a really great connection with Amanda from the moment we met, and I knew that their session will be filled with laughter, happiness and fun.

Thank you Amanda and Stuart for a great sunny afternoon in Gig Harbor. I never imaged that I”ll be doing a whole engagement session on a boat!!! I had a wonderful time getting to know you guys, and I very excited for your backyard Gig Harbor wedding this summer. Hope you guys enjoy these Images.
